During the third quarter of 2021, the top 5 navigation and maps applications on iOS in Africa showed varied performance trends. Data from Sensor Tower provides insights into downloads, revenue, and active users for each app, highlighting their market presence and user engagement.

Google Maps exhibited a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting from around 30K at the beginning of the quarter and rising to approximately 37K by the end of September. Concurrently, weekly active users also saw a steady climb, from about 2.3M to nearly 2.5M.

Google Earth experienced fluctuations in its weekly downloads. Downloads peaked at 8.3K in mid-July before settling down to around 3.6K by the end of the quarter. Active users showed slight variations, hovering between 23K and 27K throughout the period.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic maintained a stable download rate with minor increases, reaching around 4K downloads in late September. The app's active user base remained steady, averaging around 263K weekly active users.

Radarbot: Speed Cameras | GPS saw significant growth in both downloads and revenue. Downloads surged to about 13.7K in mid-September before stabilizing at roughly 3K by the end of the month. Weekly revenue also peaked at $552 in mid-September, indicating increased user engagement. Active users peaked at 15.7K in mid-September, then settled around 7.7K towards the end of the quarter.

GhanaPostGPS showed a consistent download rate, peaking at 1.6K in late August and again in late September. The app's active user count remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 17K and 18K throughout the quarter.
